Each uncoated tablet contains:
Paracetamol BP - 500 mg
Caffeine (Anhydrous) BP - 65 mg
Excipients - Q.S
Paracetamol is a pain reliever (analgesic) and helps to reduce your temperature when you have a fever.
Caffeine helps to increase the pain relief from paracetamol and makes you more alert.
This medicine is for symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate pain and fever in conditions such as headache, toothache and period pains.
Do not take Paracetamol and Caffeine Tablets:
If you are under 16 years of age.
If you are allergic (hypersensitive) to paracetamol, caffeine or any other ingredients in your medicine.
Signs of an allergic reaction include a rash and breathing problems. There can also be swelling of the legs, arms, face, throat or tongue
If you are taking other paracetamol-containing medicine.
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking paracetamol and Caffeine tablets.
If you suffer from kidney or liver problems (including Gilbert's syndrome as the dose vou need to take may need to be reduced If you have hepatitis
If you suffer from Glucose-6-phosphatehydrogenase enzyme deficiency.
Use in children:
Do not give this medicine to children under 16 years of age.
Paracetamol and Caffeine Tablets with food, drinks and alcohol
This medicine contains caffeine, which is also found in tea, coffee, chocolate and some fizzy drinks such as cola. Taking too much caffeine can cause difficulty sleeping, snaking or a thumping sensation in the chest (palpitations).
Pregnancy, breast-feeding
Talk to your doctor before taking paracetamol and Caffeine Tablets if you are pregnant or are breastfeeding. The caffeine in Paracetamol and Caffeine
Tablets may affect your child.
Always take this medicine exactly as described by this leaflet as your doctor or pharmacists have told you to.
Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
Do not exceed the stated dose.
If you have a high fever, or if symptoms get worse or persist for longer than 3 days, consult your doctor. Do not take with other paracetamol containing medicines.
Avoid too much caffeine in drinks like coffee and tea.
High caffeine intake can cause difficulty in sleeping, shaking and an uncomfortable feeling in the chest.
Always use the lowest effective dose to relieve your symptoms.
Prolonged use, except under medical supervision may be harmful.
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
This medicinal product can cause the following side effects:
- Breathing problems: These are more likely if you have asthma or have experienced them before when taking other painkillers such as ibuprofen and apirin.
- Unexplained bruising and bleeding
- Nausea, sudden weight loss, loss of appetite and yellowing of the eyes and skin.
- Tremor, difficulty sleeping, dizziness, nervousness, restlessness, irritability, anxiety
- Headache, Fast or irregular heartbeat, rapid breathing Stomach upset.
- Rare (may affect up to 1 in 1,000 people):
- Oedema
- abnormal accumulation of fluid under the skin), abnormal vision, simple skin rash or urticaria.
Very rare (may affect up to 1 in 10,000 people):
- Other allergic reactions (skin rash), hepatotoxicity (damage caused to the liver), thrombocytopenia (reduction in blood platelets, which increases the risk of bleeding or bruising), leucopenia
Store in a dry place, below 30°C.
